I was at the big fire downtown and at several fires in East End. Most of the fires were run by the Asst Chief Mr. Jones. He led the departments with the safety of his guys first. With the big fire he led all departments..Liverpool Township, Wellsville, and kept an eye on all of them. So, if you want to know the truth, then there it is! I will not tolerate anyone saying that Mr. Jones cannot run the show. He ran the show with professionalism and everyone came home safe, with no injuries, so in the fire business that is an accomplishment. If you want to say things about me and what I do or don't do, then fine. I will not stand for you or anyone putting down ONE OF THE BEST FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN THE TRI STATE AREA. Remember these are my comments and not that of my fellow councilman, which some or all may disagree with my actions. I stand by the fire department! Do You?

Who said anything like that about Bill Jones or are you just trying (AGAIN) to stir up trouble where none exist?
If everything went so smooth, why were you running around saying it was "total chaos"?
What about the fireman who threw his helmet on the ground...how professional was that?
You need to let this drop. You're lucky the fire dept. didn't crucify you.

Remember what I said about not calling help when needed and who ran the east end fires? who ran the down town fire? lifes could be loss because of I'll show you we need more paid men. I wish all firefighters could be paid but lets face it times have changed and i stood up for you when people talked and I still think you can do good for the city with the right attitude. Fact! Homes burn down because of pride not because of manpower and it is safe to say you had manpower on buildings that had no or very little people inside because of the time of fire but you have families sleeping and one day will need someone to get them out instead of putting water on the neighbors home because i am pro union instead of pro life saving attitude. Just put the fire hoses beside the fire hydrant so the neighbors could use them to wet down the house not on fire and it will be the same as ur paid dept being there. I still say the fire chief did make the right call but all the residents need that kind of protection and don't receive it. That is the truth and nothing but!!!!!!

People seem to know all about fighting fires but I never see them in turnout gear or on any fire trucks. The fire departments in this area all do a great job. maybe Mr outsider should have taken the test to be a full time public safety officer but after reading how you could better the paid and volunteer firefighters in our area i would be safe to say (as you put it )you would have failed the civil service test and so you choose to be a ARM CHAIR QUARTER BACK... Great like we didn't have enough already.......
